How the fare is built up
How we calculate your taxi fare
A classic taxi runs a meter: a starting rate, an amount per kilometre and an amount per minute. Stuck in traffic, that meter keeps running. You only learn the cost afterwards.
T4XI reverses that. We calculate the fare in advance from the actual pickup address, the destination, the distance and the expected travel time. You see that fare before you book and it is locked on confirmation. Traffic, detours or longer waiting times do not change it.
The fare includes VAT. Ride segments between 23:00 and 06:00 carry a 15% night tariff, already included in the amount shown. There is no surge pricing at busy times.
Taxi over long distances
On longer rides a taximeter climbs quickly and the final price becomes unpredictable. For rides throughout the Netherlands and abroad we therefore agree a single fixed amount, calculated on your route.

How is my fixed price determined?
Enter your pick-up address and destination. If a fixed fare is available, you will see the price including VAT straight away. Once confirmed, traffic or waiting time will not change it.
Do you charge surge pricing or a night rate?
We do not use surge pricing. A 15% night rate applies between 23:00 and 06:00 and is included in the price shown before you book.
What if there's no automatic price?
For routes or stops without a fixed price we'll gladly make a proposal. Request it via WhatsApp or email and we'll include your entered details automatically.
What does a taxi cost per kilometre?
We do not bill a separate per-kilometre rate the way a taximeter does. Distance is one of the factors your fixed fare is calculated from, together with expected travel time and the time of day. You see the final amount in advance, so there is nothing to work out per kilometre yourself.
What are the official maximum taxi rates?
The Dutch government sets maximum rates for street taxis each year: a starting rate plus an amount per kilometre and per minute. Those are ceilings, not fixed prices. Our fixed fare is calculated in advance and stays within that legal framework; the comparison above shows how the two relate.
How expensive is a taxi for a longer ride?
That depends on distance, expected travel time and the time of day. Because we agree one fixed amount in advance, you know the exact figure before booking — including rides of tens of kilometres. Enter your departure point and destination to see it.
Can I pay for a taxi ride afterwards?
Private rides are settled at booking, which is what locks the fare. For companies we work with invoicing afterwards; contact us via business travel for that.
Does T4XI use a taximeter?
No. You receive a fixed fare in advance that is locked on confirmation. No meter runs during the ride, so delays en route do not change your amount.
